Kenny Klein: Tales Of The Rambling Wren.
Follow Kenny from the levees of New Orleans to the whirling chaos that is the Pagan festival circuit and beyond. Musings, rants, and just plain Pagan talk.
Brushwood And Beyond
Today is Wednesday, July 10, and in two days I leave New Orleans to begin my summer tour. First stop: Brushwood!!
The Brushwood Folklore Center is a sprawling campground that houses several yearly Pagan festivals, the two largest being Sirius Rising (July 16-21) and Summerfest (July 23-28). Of all the Pagan festivals I do, and have done (which are many) these are my favorites. Part of that is Brushwood itself. Nestled in the hilly farm lands of the New York/Pennsylvania border (near Erie PA), the site is beautiful. It features two cafes, a hot tub, a pool, a kid's area, and a fire circle roundhouse that's bigger than your home (unless you live in a mansion).

The festivals each feature excellent workshops by outstanding Pagan, Heathen, spiritual and other leaders---Margot Adler will be at Sirius this year, heading a long list of speakers----and nightly concerts, including, FishBird; as well as my friend Ginger Doss, and many other excellent acts. And of course nightly drumming, bonfire dancing and fire spinning. The final night of each festival the fire tribe lights a bonfire whose wooden structure is literally the size of a two-story house. Yes, really. Look for yourself!

From Brushwood I go to Minnesota, where I will do a concert and some workshops on August 2, 3 and 4 for Eye Of Horus, a great occult book shop in Minneapolis. Then on to Sacred harvest Festival, a very nice event in southern Minnesota. This year's guests are Teo Bishop, Szemeralda Shanel, and myself.
From there I am once again fiddling in the hallways of GenCon, the world's largest gaming convention. This year I will also do a concert, and a Fairy Tales workshop.
The next weekend, August 23, 24, and 25, I'll be in northeast Ohio for some gigs around Youngstown and the Mahonning Valley. More details will magically appear on my web site.
I hope to see you at some of these events!
