Holiday Magick with the Four Aces

The winter festival time can be stressful, even for Pagans. Some honor their family’s holiday traditions with a bit of discomfort. Others are caught up in the responsibilities of cooking, baking, gifting and visiting like everyone else.

Whatever you celebrate this time of year, tarot can help you make it more joyful, more inspiring and more fun.

All you need are the Four Aces.

You can use the Aces in a ritual for holiday sanity.

You can meditate with the Aces to relieve holiday stress and offer creative inspiration.

You can focus on the images of the Four Aces to remind you that the holidays can be a time of wonderful new beginnings.

You can bake pies, cakes or cookies and decorate them with the images of the Aces.

You might even want to get a miniature deck or print out the Aces on study cardboard. You can punch holes in the top and hang them on your Yule tree!

Each Ace is the essence, source and beginning of one of the Four Elements. Each element is helpful as we celebrate the holidays.

The Ace of Wands represents the element of Fire. When you include this image in your meditations, rituals or holiday decoration, the Ace of Wands brings you energy, creativity and inspiration. If you are feeling tired and unmotivated, the Ace of Wands will give you the spark you need.

The Ace of Cups represents the element of Water. When you include this image in your meditations, rituals or holiday decoration, the Ace of Cups brings you emotional balance and compassion. This can be particularly important if the holidays require you to spend time with difficult people. No matter your family dynamic, the Ace of Cups brings the energy of love to your household.

The Ace of Swords represents the element of Air. When you include this image in your meditations, rituals or holiday decoration, the Ace of Swords will assist you as you make plans for the holiday season. The Ace of Swords aids in logistics, communication and clarity. It will also help keep the energy in your household fresh and calm.

The Ace of Pentacles represents the element of Earth. When you include this image in your meditations, rituals or holiday decoration, the Ace of Pentacles will help make sure you have the resources you need this holiday season.

The Ace of Pentacles will aid in all the practical matters of the holidays. Gifts, food and well-being can all be enhanced when you welcome the Earth energy brought by the Ace of Pentacles.

As an added bonus, the four Aces bring new opportunities and new possibilities in the coming New Year! Incorporating tarot images into your personal holiday traditions is a fun and effective way to bring magick to your household during the holidays!
