Sacred Space: The Way of the Sacred Feminine

I am intrigued with living and conceptualizing the emerging paradigm of the Sacred Feminine. May you experience this blog as a Circle where you can breathe in to who you are. May you find new dimensions to yourself.

I published a book in Netherlands: Living In Bliss, The Path of Initiation in Ancient Goddess Cultures (in Dutch). Magical Marketing

Making my living with my magic, I am intrigued with marketing. Deep down, I understand marketing IS magic. We are now deeply immersed in the trend of elevator pitches and Tell-Them-In-One-Word. People spend only 15 seconds on a webpage, we are told, so tell your message fast!!!

I freak at this. I just can’t, and I know I don’t want to. I left science to become free, to follow my heart, not to become the slave of the marketing guru’s. AND, on a deeper level I can tell you they are wrong. Maybe they can help you earn big money. But they are not helping you do the work of your souls calling.

It is simply not how magic works. Magic is about raising energy and creating a field around a specific intention. Ha, you might think, cannot that intention be said in one word? Well, actually not. Because magic is also about aligning with how nature really works. And if there is something everyone agrees upon, from mystic to management prophet to priestess, it is that the world is complex, paradoxical, and full of miracles. So the unexpected truth is, that in order to create your dreams you need to be full of ambiguity!

An example. Ever heard of One Trait Breeding? It is used widely in our cattle industry. Say, someone wants chickens with more breast meat. Then in the breeding all the focus comes to this one trait. Researcher Temple Grandin came across the shocking results of this. She came to a farm where the roosters raped the hens, and if the hens refused the rooster simply murdered them. Temple was shocked, of course, and went to the farmer to ask if he had noticed this. He said: ‘yes, and it hurts me to see it, but you know that is just as it is among roosters and hens’. Temple researched this, and this is what she found: it USED TO BE not normal between roosters and hens. That changed when one trait breeding came in. Within not more than 5 years, the roosters became super macho to the point of being rapists and murderers.

Enjoyed your article and agree with it - but would also like to point out how we overlook misspellings in advertising, nowadays.

As you say, common marketing wisdom tells us to be faster and more succinct. It's One Trait Breeding's offspring, but there are o
Why we all search love- and how to find it for good ♥

Love is in the air... because it's brighid time? Why do we all yearn so much for love? Whether we are in a relationship or not, love calls us...

We all know what Rumi tells us: our task is not to find love, but to let crumble the walls we put up between her and us.

I feel you who read this here in this sacred space. I feel the energy of a circle of women. I feel my eyes soften and I invite you to allow yours to soften too. For love cannot be spoken of unless we feel her. The words only get meaning when we are with her.

Fly like an Eagle ♥

Here is a new story to support us in these times of transitions. Stories are the language of the soul, and Soul is sending us new messages. In the video I also share Jungian analysis of the story. Discover the eagle in you- and in those around you. It's time to fly ♥

Are we in economical crisis? I was at a highly interesting Jungian seminar organised by a friend which had as message that yes there is crisis, and no, it's not economical. It is a crisis in consciousness. In true Jungian style they used a story as the red thread through the day. At the end of the day I was full of hope for our future- and felt we needed a new story.

Pristine Priestess

You have a pristine forest inside of you. A sacred sanctuary. That is where your inner priestess lives. On an ego level, you are all sorts of things, like mother, daughter, artist, scientist, sportswoman, politician, lover, ... And, there is something else, of a very different order. Something that goes before everything else. Something that is more deeply rooted in your core, or even, that is the roots from which everything else sprouts. In you is a pristine forest. She is alive, Everytime you allow yourself to really sink into her, you die to all those other you's. You become one with the forest. You enter a primitive state. You connect to the primal forces inside of you. Sometimes still, sometimes fiery, sometimes howling, sometimes flowing.  Like the primal forces of the elements. Your life energy will start to flow again. You connect to a deep knowing, a primal knowing on who you are and what your life is about. You become pristine. From there, you can rise up again, rebirthing yourself. Rejuvenated, re-energized, re-created. This journey to your Sacred Space inside, is the journey of the Priestess. You can make it in seconds, minutes, hours, days, a lifetime. It is the natural cycle of women, our innate way to keep sane in an insane world.

When I started this blog, a few months ago, I challenged myself to make it a Sacred Space. A pristine place to re-create yourself. I feel in the above words I did just that. Please let me know if it had that effect on you?!

For actually, I find it quite hard to create a Sacred Space here. I find myself going off in interesting insights and experiences. In my rituals people celebrate me for the sacred space I hold. So what makes it so much harder to access it here?, I asked myself. What comes up is: my own pictures. My mind tells me that a blog should be interesting, fast, giving new insights. Aha. Witnessing my mind twist, I could start again.

Indeed, this blog started very differently. With my journey with the word 'priestess'. I always love that word, and years ago chose it very consciously above the word 'witch'. It still feels good. Recently I started wondering about the etymology of the word. The online etymology dictionary says:

Calling In Death

'Everything in me knew I was dying. Memories of my life started flooding by. I realized in that moment how much I loved. Loved my dear ones, the earth, this life. So much time had been wasted in fear!  I started a ritual and invited everyone to say 'I love you'. I shared everything else that needed to be shared'.
At the point of near death the veils are lifted. You suddenly see, know, are. Things that you have been closing your eyes for all your life suddenly become crystal clear.  For instance: your mission in life, love, how to live together with all these people on our beautiful Earth.

When the Christian church started portraying death as something outside of you, which decided for you whether it would be heaven or hell, depending on past actions,  they stole something essential from us: the potency of this moment near death.

Back to What I Really Love

It is all about going back again and again to what I really love. In between the chaos of getting everything sorted before I leave to Crete, I remember.

I am aware that you are also on a busy schedule. Let's take a moment together. This moment. Allow yourself to be held in the arms of the Goddess. Just be. While I let myself be. John Lennon said: 'life is about what happens in between your appointments'. Can we enter that inbetween space together? Can we find life together?

That is what really counts. As I say it, I feel me breath deepening, my eyes closing. I feel vulnerable. I don't know where this will take us. AND, I feel life quickening. I know again that it is exactly this: to grow the capacity to stay in that moment, to not cut it short. To trust Life, trust Goddess. Just the right thing will start happening.

Lilith Changed Astrology Forever

Lilith is the one crying out in the night when our lives have become too politically correct, shouting: ‘NO! I am here, I am real, let me in'.

My first blog for SageWoman. Welcome sister! May this become a Sacred Space where you come to breathe, resource, come home to sisters and the Sacred Feminine. A place where you reconnect to the sacred.

I am writing this on a flight from Amsterdam to Denver. I will be meeting Clarissa Pinkola Estés. Exciting, as my life as a spiritual teacher started out 20 years ago with giving workshops around her fabulous book Women Who Run With the Wolves. What a thrilling moment! A good opportunity to reflect on my years of teaching and priestessing. What has proven itself important through the years?

At that time I was beginning on this path I was impressed by one of my neighbors. She always had something to say on everything. Wouldn’t life be easy if I always knew everything, I often mused? If I had all the right words to put a blog together? Actually, life has proved differently. She alienated her dear ones from her by always having to tell her view on things, and never having space to listen to THEIR side. I am not so jealous of her anymore.
