Worried about Long Count-ageddon in 2012? Why wait? That pesky galactic alignment doesn’t come close to doing what our own solar system dishes out during the summer of 2010. Four outer planets in cardinal signs – Saturn, Pluto, Uranus and Jupiter - form a long-term T-square that some astrologers are calling the Cardinal Cross. It’s repeatedly activated by the inner planets and the moon through the summer. This line-up isn’t favorable for love and abundance spells, but everyone will get plenty of practice with protection spells, psychic shields, and domestic peace spells.

While planetary shagnasties are on the loose all summer, a few bright rays of hope poke through the tempest. The Moon contacts Jupiter/Uranus on the 3rd just as Uranus prepares to retrograde. Intuition gives flashes of inventiveness and brilliant ideas about how to do things differently. The status quo crumbles as mounting pressures surmounts resistance to change. Mercury enters Leo on the 9th and bounces empowering trines off of Jupiter/Uranus. Venus enters Virgo and gets swept up in a compulsion to fix and clean up messy situations. Keep those brooms handy.
The New Moon/Total Solar Eclipse in Cancer is on July 11th. Unseen forces stir up events for which few are prepared. Saturn returns to Libra on the 21st. Now in his sign of exaltation, Saturn’s kabalistic champions, Agiel (the Intelligence), Cassiel (angel), and Tzaphkiel (archangel), saddle up and ride into full Angel of Justice mode. Saturn dominates the field as the most powerful planet in the game. He now exerts great ordering power into fairness, equity, and justice, not only in society, business and politics, but in the great cosmic river of karma. What goes around comes around faster than a serve from Venus Williams. - The Sun enters Leo on the 22nd. While Saturn holds the Sword of Justice, the Sun in Leo wields the Sword of Truth. Powerful personalities dominate global news. Jupiter’s retrograde on the 23rd, while square Pluto, is a sure sign that Justice and Truth catch someone with hands in the cookie jar of ill-gotten gains. Keep actions above reproach, as scandals taint late July.
- The Full Moon in Aquarius on the 25th forms a Mystic Rectangle, a configuration that makes it easier for intangible, archetypal forces to operate at full power. The fifth, final, and most potent Saturn-Uranus opposition occurs on the 26th as the Sun trines Jupiter. Mars enters Libra on the 29th, adding his strength to Saturn’s already overwhelming supremacy. Great times awaken great individuals to enact these cosmic energies for all of humanity. Conflicts are forced to an abrupt halt and executive power changes hands. Renewal and rebalancing give momentum to the major initiatives of the early 21st century, but not without the resentment of those who like things the way they were. Time (Cronos/Saturn) inexorably marches forward.
