Solstice Meditation Day Six: Taurus and the Steward
For a recording of this Vision working, please click here:
The planet Venus is the ruler of Taurus, and the traditional associations of Venus as the Enchantress of Love, and the Lady of Flower and all of nature are important, but particularly Venus' role, as the Beloved, male or female, is the important work of the Steward, for the Steward seeks to protect and promote that which is loved. In our work in the Temple, we particularly see that in a role with nature. Venusian correspondences such as rose quartz and emerald, as well as roses, red sandalwood, yarrow and lady's mantle all work well for this vision. The Empress card is the appropriate Tarot Trump.
Since this working will be a microcosm of the forces for the month when the Sun is in Taurus, you might want to pull a Tarot Card, Rune, Ogham or any other divination omen before, or after the workings, to give yourself further insight.
Entering into a meditative state. Prepare yourself and your space.
On Day Six of the Working, we call upon the Steward God, the one who preserves and caretakers in partnership. The Steward seeks to preserve the harmony of all things, safeguarding the future for all.
We call upon the Steward God
The Child of Light grows stronger within you, like the light of the Green Land that grows in the Spring. You bear the lessons and blessings of the Father, Rebel, Ecstatic and Warrior. Now it is time to seek the Steward, a guardian of the gate not unlike the Warrior in function, but with different lessons to teach.
The Royal Road of initiation develops into the realm of nature, the lush garden of all life. The light within your heart, your child heart, is like the Sun, and all of nature turns to you for nourishment. Take note of the plants that turn to you now.
The power of the Witch born by the Steward is the power to bestow beauty, inner and outer, to all. As we attune to nature, our own beauty shines forth on all levels. Self esteem is a key to magick, and without this sense of self beauty, your magick will be fueled by more harmful thoughts and feelings
The lesson of the Steward, the goal of the Witch is attunement with the body, to see the first thing which you steward, you caretake, is the body. It is the first gift you are given in this life, and the last you'll give up. Exercise, diety, and overall health of self must come first before you can truly caretake anyone or anything else. As you do to yourself, you do to your charge. Commune with the Steward God about this self care and self esteem.
You bring the Child of Light in your heart to the Steward. The Steward touches both hands, and blesses you. The Steward hold the pentacle, the peyton or pantacle, the map of the elements of the universe, the key to understanding the whole. It is often made in stone, wood or metal, gifts of the Earth. The Steward talks to you about the all, and compares this path to the Warrior. The Path is not always about fighting, for or against. Sometimes it is about what you preserve, what you caretake, what you safeguard and steward. Take a moment to think about what you are the steward for... (pause).....May you be blessed to know what and when to nurture. Blessed be.
Receive the Wisdom of the Steward, understanding what in life you must cherish, safeguard and preserve for the future.
We thank the Steward God. Blessed be.
What happens in this vision will help you unfold your experiences for the Month when the Sun occupies the sign of Taurus.
