Continuing its effort to end years of fighting between Muslim and Christian militants in the Central African Republic, the Interfaith Peace Platform was recently awarded the prestigious Sergio Vieira de Mello award for peace earlier this year. Why are parts of the Buddhist establishment in Burma so hostile to the country's Rohingya minority? And are some Buddhists standing up for their Muslim neighbors? American Buddhist writer discusses the horrific situation in Burma and how some Buddhists are taking a stand for peace.

What is life like for Turkey's non-Muslim minorities? In many ways Turkey is a standard bearer for secular Muslim-majority countries, but that isn't to say there aren't issues, such as the country's fraught history with its Greek and Armenian populations. The Economist takes a look at where ethnic and religious minorities in Turkey stand today.

Aryós Héngwis (or the more modest Héngwis for short) is a native of the Pontic-Caspian steppe, born some 5000 years ago, near the village of Dereivka. In his youth he stood out from the other snakes for his love of learning and culture, eventually coming into the service of the local reǵs before moving westward toward Europe. Most recently, Aryós Héngwis left his home to pursue a new life in America, where he has come under the employ of BBI Media as an internet watchdog (or watchsnake, if you will), ever poised to strike the unwary troll.
