This is how abundance manifests in my life. It's a story about something that happened in my life, and how I chose to interpret it. This is the kind of story that this blog, Gnosis Diary, was created to share, because it's about my personal gnosis.

I lost weight this summer. When the weather turned cold, I dug out my winter gear, and most of it didn't fit. I told my god-husbands I needed money. They asked me what I needed it for. I said, I need clothes in my new size. Not long after that, a lady I'd never met died, and her daughter (whom I know through one of my family members) gave away all the lady's clothes. Four big boxes of clothes in my new correct size arrived on my doorstep.

Interpretation

Now, this story does not contain flashy magic, or rituals, or miracles. It's a story of my normal life. I chose to interpret this story as the gods manifesting abundance for me because I communicated my need clearly and with my whole will, without reservation.

I know that the turning point of this story is a decision by the woman's daughter to give her mother's clothes to her extended social network rather than to a charity thrift shop. I know there is nothing supernatural or uncanny in this story. Nonetheless, this is abundance. This is me getting what I need because I need it-- and because I said so, and trusted that telling the gods my need would result in the need being met. Someone else might interpret this story differently, and that's OK.

We choose the narratives of our lives. I choose positive interpretations when such a choice makes sense to me.

I choose a positive outlook in general when such a choice makes sense to me. I choose to think well of other people, of the world, of the future, whenever I can choose to do so. That doesn't mean burying my head in the sand about the dangers in the world. It does mean that I try to concentrate on what I want and need and notice when it appears. When I notice such blessings in my life, I am thankful and delighted.

More Abundance

I first posted the story about receiving clothes on my online group. After I posted it, more abundance came my way, possibly as a result of communicating about abundance. Here's that story. :)

Yesterday was the 28th, which is my month-a-versary with my god-husbands (Odin / Honir / Lodhur-and-Loki) a day when I exchange gifts with them. One of the things I consider a gift for Odin is communication to my fellow humans about heathenry, so posting that thread was one of my gifts to him. After I posted it, Mom suddenly got excited about a coupon and hared off to the mall.  (Mom is doing better now and can drive herself places.) That left me with time and space to perform a more elaborate ritual exchange than just posting on the net.

When mom returned, she had a present for me. A fox bowl! It was a bowl with images of foxes on it. I consider the red fox to be a symbol of Loki. So it was obvious to me that bowl was for giving food to Loki. (When I give food and drink to my god-husbands, I do it by calling their names for their attention, such as by making a toast, and then eating and drinking it myself. They experience it with me.)

This is how I interpret the story of this gifting cycle. A small gift (the thread about the clothes) led to another small gift (time alone) which led to a larger gift (ritual) which led to a larger gift (fox bowl.) The fox bowl was a gift manifested by the gods, chosen by my mom, given to me, and will be used by me to give more gifts to Loki. Like the goddess colors pendant, the fox bowl is a thing they gave me to continue to do them more honor and give them more gifts. They give me what I need to do their work.
