Hedge Witch: Into the Wilds…

Let me take you on a journey through the wilds of nature and back to the roots and bones of witchcraft, a natural witchcraft that works with the seasons and all the natural items that Mother Nature provides drawing on magical folk lore with a dash of hedge witch and gypsy magic too.

In the hedgerow...any hedgerow

In the hedgerow...any hedgerow

We associate hedgerows with long winding country lanes but actually a lot of cities and towns have hedgerows even if it is just the one outside the front of your garden or alongside the local school.

It doesn’t matter if it is a hedge packed full of nesting birds and jammed with loads of berries or a sad neglected hedge littered with old crisp packets, it is still a hedge and still full of magic, you just need to know how to tap into it and use the magic it can provide for you.

When you are walking through the local countryside with the hedgerows on either side or when you are walking back from the school run with a few hedges in the front of houses what do you feel?

Next time you are there send out your spidey senses and see if you can connect with the energies of the hedge…what type of plant is it?  How does it feel?  What magic can it help you with?  What can you do for it?

If you are in the middle of a busy high street you might want to try and look a little be less suspicious  so rather than stand there talking to it just put your hand out to connect with the leaves or branches and close your eyes…allow the connection to be made.

Rachel is a witch...has been for a very long time, not the green skinned warty kind obviously...the real sort - but she is also a working wife and mother living in Hampshire, England who has also been lucky enough to write and have published a growing stack of books on the Craft. She loves to learn she loves to study and continues to do so each and every day but has learned the most from actually getting outside and doing it. She regularly gives talks and workshops at pagan events. Rachel is also founder and an Elder at the Kitchen Witch online school of witchcraft. She likes to laugh...and eat cake...
