A Faerie Haven: Living in Myth, Being Magic

For some people, magic isn't something they do, it is what they are. This blog focuses less on theory and more on lyrical mysticism, applied spellcrafting, experiential awareness of Divinity, and related topics. A haven for you who long to become your myth and live your poem. Faerie tales do come true.

Ritual: The Power to Persist

If you’re a heart-led individual, you know it’s hard to be an agent of love in a world where vision is often scorned by those who prefer greed and narrow-mindedness. Sometimes, we just want to give up.

When hate tramples you, Gaia, and the lives of others—whether they are people you know or strangers—suffering can be so great that you feel too broken to keep on going.

But love and the forces that oppose it have battled throughout all time. So we need the ability to continue fighting the good fight over the long haul. Here is a ritual that helps you persist, with the support of your Gods, ancestors, and All Your Relations.

Recite the following words. When you get to the words "even my terror or deprivation," cut them out if they are irrelevant to you.

"With my Gods, my ancestors, and All My Relations as my witnesses, here is my declaration of—and commitment to—being an agent of
love,
beauty,
magic,
joy,
passion,
and compassion.

"I am a witch.
I am an Old One.
I saw the cosmos being born.
I have seen suns die.

"I promise You, my ancestors, and All My Relations:

"I will not use anything—even my terror or deprivation—
as an excuse
to give up.
I commit, more than ever,
that I will be an agent of love, beauty, magic,
joy, passion, and compassion.

"I have your back.

"So mote it be."

When we make a promise to our Gods, ancestors, and all our relations, they can help us fulfill that promise. Here are some words to ask for that help, after you finish the above recitation:

"Please give me the healing, power, and wisdom needed to fulfill my promise. Thank you. So mote it be."

If, in generosity, you have read this post and thus been my witness for my declaration of, and commitment to, being an agent of love, beauty, magic, joy, compassion, and passion, I thank you with all my heart.

If you want to make the declaration/commitment, I'd feel honored to be your witness. Simply use the comment field below to let me know you've done the rite.

Our gods are powerful, as are our ancestors and all our relations. But none of us can walk strong without help from other humans who still exist on the mundane plane. So do not rely on this ritual alone. Also get support from friends, coven, therapist, spiritual guide, or family.

 I commit to heart-led action.

 I have your back.
