Welcome to the 2016 Midsummer/Lammas Tarot Blog Hop.

If this is your first experience with the Tarot Blog Hop, it was started by myself in response to a kerfuffle within the Tarot online community. My thought was that we could do better to build one another up than tear each other down. So on Imbolg 2012, we launched with all participants answering "How Can I Be A Better Candle?". And do check out Donnaleigh de la Rose's great breakdown about what a Tarot Blog Hop is. Now we've been live on every quarter and crossquarter since that 2012 launch.

If you are a blogger who enjoys Divination, please join us! You must have a blog. :D

Each time we have a different wrangler who proposes a topic. Our task as handed to us by Aisling, fearless wrangler for Lammas 2016, is to delve into the idea of a union of opposites. She provided us with a bit of direction without locking us into any one thing.

I've decided to choose to explore two cards that some think are the beginning and the end while others see them in a different way. But for me, the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning.

I've been working on a series called the Fool's Journey. It begins with the Fool meeting the Magician and then the High Priestess. It isn't completed yet but one day... You can start here if you like. The Fool, for me, is neither the beginning nor the end of the Major Arcana. Instead, I see him or her as the Wanderer of the Tarot.

The end of the Major Arcana is the World. In my tale, and I am totally giving away the end of the story, the Fool trades places with the woman in the laurel wreath. She strips him of his clothes then has him become her as she becomes him. Then she is off to meet the Magician and the High Priestess et all because when she hands him her knowledge, she now becomes Tabula Erasa.

So the Fool and the World are my Union of Opposites. The Fool is an open, blank book waiting to be written on by all the knowledge. The World waits to be able to release the burden of knowledge to go learn again.

It's a symbiotic thing for me. My view of this Tarot union supports my view of the world I live in. All things cycle. All things renew. The pendulum swings one way only to return to the other. Or, you might like the earworm of "living in the spiral."

While I have your attention, I do hope you will visit me and follow me on YouTube. I do weekly free Tarotscopes videos there every Sunday. Here's the main video for August 1-7.

Seek joy, y'all. Pass it on.

And remember, we are all Fools somewhere on our journey to become the World. Or are we the World waiting on one more Fool?
