For those of you who are new to the Tarot Blog hop, the idea behind this is that the Tarot community joins together every six weeks to blog on a specific topic. That topic is proposed by whomever is wrangling the hop. We began in 2012 with an Imbolc hop that asked, "How can I be a better candle." This is our third year. The bloggers change and we are always happy for more to join us. You can learn more here. All those who work to promote camaraderie and community within the Tarot world are welcome.

This time I'm publishing my post here at my SageWoman blog, Tarot Templates. I wanted to loop this community in because there are some amazing blogs here as well. I hope some of the Tarot and Divination bloggers here will consider joining us for the Mabon Tarot Blog Hop.

Joanna (the lovely hostess of this hop) has asked us all to answer this question. "How do you channel your inner Queen of Pentacles?"

Well, I have so many ways! Zentangle, my fiction, my cooking are just the first three to come to mind. But I've already shared my Zentangles. I shared my love of cooking and tarot.  And the Gods know I've shared my fiction. (do NOT click that last link if you are reading from work. NSFW, promise. It's all very naughty stuff. :D )

So how else do I channel that inner Queen of Pentacles? I had to tumble that around in my mind a bit. And it hit me. Spreads. I like to create spreads. I've shared a few here on Sagewoman as well as at my own blog. The process of creating a spread varies for me. Sometimes it is because I have a specific question from a client. I can break that down into sections to focus on. Other times it is because I have a quote or a poem or a saying that strikes me.  I also have a series of Fairy Tale spreads. You can see my Four Dragons spread here.

What deck to use for the spread was a no-brainer for me. The kitschy, quirky, always fun Housewives Tarot from the aptly named Quirk Books has to be the deck the Queen of Pentacles would turn to for advice. But what about a spread?

In one of her many guises, the Queen of Pentacles is a mom. I see her as the mom Erma Bombeck mentioned when she said, "When your mother asks, "Do you want a piece of advice?" it's a mere formality. It doesn't matter if you answer yes or no. You're going to get it anyway."

The Tarot is one way to get some advice. So, here is the Queen of Pentacles Advice Spread.

Ask Your Mother

1. Advice on a current or potential relationship

2. Advice on your current or potential job

3. Advice on what you are doing wrong

4. Advice on what you are doing right

5. The last word

So here is what it might look like.

What advice would you offer me based on this spread? And as to the final piece of advice, can I just say, "OH SHUT UP, MOM!"

I hope that you have enjoyed this stop on the Lammas 2014 Tarot Blog Hop. Hop on with your bad self to the next post. Thanks for leaving a comment so I know you were here.
