A Word from Crystal Guide, Venus, on Charging Crystals

This is a question a person asked about charging. I have posted Venus's reply before, but here it is with less Genn, more Venus. First, the question:

What do I need to do to charge or recharge my crystals? Do I need to put them in the sun...which is kind of hard where I live because I am gone most of the day & I do not leave my drapes open while I am gone.

An Example of How to Work With a Particular Crystal

I got a question today from a friend about a new crystal they adopted. They told me their Higher Self asked them to buy this crystal to help with their channeling and wondered if I had any tips. As I was composing the email, I decided that the information might be helpful to others, so I turned the reply into a blog post. I hope you find this helpful.

Anyway…. following is what I had to suggest about how to work with a new crystal. I will break the description up and italicize the parts and indent my answer to help you follow along. This is the description of the crystal in question:

GENN'S NEW BOOK IS FINISHED ! CRYSTAL MANDALAS: Anatomy & Physiology of Quartz Crystals (Volumes 1 - 4) COLORING BOOKS !

Well, you might have noticed I have been a little quiet lately. I've been madly working on finishing my latest series of books. They are currently at the printer and will arrive next week! I wanted to get them finished for a workshop I will be teaching in Fayetteville (Arkansas) for the Ozark Research Institute's 28th Annual Dowsing & Alternative Health Convention on April 15th through 18th. (I will be writing a blog post about this in case some of you can attend!) I will also be in Hot Springs in May at the Crystal and Crystal Skull Festival  (also talking about the new books and doing crystal readings). Anyway, the books are AVAILABLE NOW for pre-order. (You can click here to open a new tab to the order page.)

I've been working on this series for a couple of years now, and of course, all my friends, when they saw the great hullaballoo about the "adult coloring books", were on me to "HURRY HURRY HURRY, Genn!! Get your book out!"  Well, while I agreed that "striking while the iron was hot" seemed the smart thing to do, first, I didn't want the books to be confused as "just another coloring book in a vast sea of coloring books" and second, (and more important) I wanted them to be exactly right. Also, while the series ARE books which you color, they are FAR MORE than just "coloring books". They are learning books. Relaxing books. A way to make learning the nuances of quartz crystal easy, fun, and memorable. There is something magical about opening the right-brain, or creative side, that helps to bring the logical, or linear, left-brain side into more clear focus. This is what I hope to achieve with this series of books.

The MOHS Scale of Hardness in a Nutshell

This is just a quick (as in not indepth) discussion of the MOHS scale of hardness. The MOHS scale was developed by (and subsequently named after) Freiderich Mohs in 1812. It is one way a geologist (or a rockhound) to determine what type of stone they might have. It is based on using one stone to scratch another, and since this has all be done and recorded, I prefer to look up the stone online to see what its hardness is. However if you are in the field and want to know what type of mineral you may be looking at, you might use the MOHS scratch test.

The hardness of quartz crystal on the MOHS scale of hardness is a 7. For an excellent in-depth description of what exactly the MOHS scale of mineral hardness is, here's a website. In a nutshell, the MOHS scale is a way of rating the hardness of a mineral based on its ability to scratch the mineral below it. This is in order to determine which mineral class the stone is question might be in. Rated on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 (the softest) is Talc (think talcum powder), and 10 (the hardest) is Diamond. Each mineral on the scale is able to "scratch" the mineral below it. The scale is:

HOW I BECAME ADDICTED TO ROCKS: THIS IS MY STORY

Crescent City, California December 1981

I started picking up rocks with my Granny on our summer vacations to Crescent City, California. We would pick up the agate on the beach. Sometimes we would lay in the pebbles and sift through them, holding them up to the sunlight to see which were most translucent. The top layer, dried by the sun, (which beckoned us to sit and dig) was deceptive. The sea water would seep up from the under layer and soak our knees and elbows. When the agates we found dried, we would lick them to rediscover the shine.

QUESTIONS FOR THE CRYSTAL PEOPLE: Can crystals be used to guide others without their consent?

I received this question, and immediately one of my crystal Guides, (not Venus), who comes through with a heavy accent has stepped in to answer the question. When I inquired as to why there is an accent associated with her answers, she said "because it is easier for you to determine that the answers are coming from us if we answer with an accent." However the answers come, I am both honored and blessed! At any rate, here is the question, followed by the answer.
