From the Oak: Let’s hear it for the God!

Many are those that focus on female divinities, leaving male divinities in the shadows if they get mentioned at all. This is a shame. Here I will share my thoughts, stories and prayers on male divinities. Currently focusing on divinities placed in an atheist "graveyard".

Offering to Dagda

I'm very far behind in my obligations for this blog so I thank all for their patience.  Today's offering is for the Mighty Dagda.

Dagda

eldest, wisest, mightiest

of the Tuatha De

tall and broad draped in colors nine

twinkling eyes and wild red hair

with golden ornaments and scarlet cloak

Excellent God

Lord of Perfect Knowledge

phallic, lustful, Father of Many

Druid of the Gods

wisdom, bounty, victory are your gifts

God of the Sacred Fire

ever hungry for offerings

of bannocks, ale and butter

Mighty are your treasures:

Never Dry feeds all but cowards and oath breakers

Four Cornered Music turns the season

and your war-club that slays and revives

Great One, I remember and honor you.

I'm an eclectic polytheist whose main divinities are Heru-ur, Bast, Sobek, Yinepu Isis, Zeus-Serapis, and Yemaya. I'm a mother, wife and Librarian living in the Rocky Mountains stumbling on my path and wondering what the heck I'm doing. Blessed be.
