From the Oak: Let’s hear it for the God!

Many are those that focus on female divinities, leaving male divinities in the shadows if they get mentioned at all. This is a shame. Here I will share my thoughts, stories and prayers on male divinities. Currently focusing on divinities placed in an atheist "graveyard".

On Magni

When your doubts overwhelm
When you act out your fears
When failure drags you down
Call on Magni, son of Thor

Magni will guide you through
The helping hand
Building the bridge
Carefully over troubled waters

Take that first step
Give yourself into his care
Following wherever he may lead
The young recruit to the grizzled sergeant.

Seen it all and done it all has he
Not one given to emotional displays
He is the mender, the mediator
The calm after the storm

He has no interest in the martyr
Or in short term solutions
Come to him only if you are willing
To put in the work and time

No mountain is too tall
No ocean too wide
For the patience of Magni
Yours however will be tested

Magni will crumble your tower
Deconstruct and eradicate
All that brought you to this point
Removing the old to make way for the new

Magni is deity #22 from the atheist graveyard. This tarot inspired poem fulfills my vow to write about each divinity wrongfully placed there.

I'm an eclectic polytheist whose main divinities are Heru-ur, Bast, Sobek, Yinepu Isis, Zeus-Serapis, and Yemaya. I'm a mother, wife and Librarian living in the Rocky Mountains stumbling on my path and wondering what the heck I'm doing. Blessed be.
