Perfumes for the 7 Day Week
This was originally posted as a contribution to Religion Day on the Light and Shadow Week Theme on the Fragrantica forum. The original post on that site included graphics and links to reviews on that site of the specific perfumes listed, while this repost just has the lists as text.

It's religion day! I've been waiting for this. I made a Fragram.
The most basic experience of light and dark is day and night, and both day and night are contained within one day. The sun rises to light the world and sets to plunge it into darkness, and both are contained within a day.
The names of the 7 days of the week were set in historical times, and each was named after great powers and gods. Specifically the Norse gods, all except Saturday. Originally Saturday was named Laugrdagr, meaning Bath Day, a day for spiritual cleansing baths. The reason for the name was forgotten, and people thought, why 6 major powers and a common household chore? So they renamed it after Saturn, a Roman god.
There are many perfumes named after the days of the week and the powers for whom they were named. My personal Days of the Week tray, pictured below, features a lot of perfumes made by indie maker Cherry-Ka's Trunk because the perfumer is a personal friend.
Sunday: Melody of the Sun, Soleil de Feu, Grain de Soleil
Monday: Moonlight, Moon Carnival
Tuesday: Icefall
Wednesday: One-Eye by Cherry-Ka's Trunk
Thursday: Thunderstrike by Cherry-Ka's Trunk, Thunderstorm by Demeter
Few things are both so light and so dark as lightning and storm clouds!
Friday: Vanr Volva by Cherry-Ka's Trunk
Saturday: Silver Wordsmith by Cherry-Ka's Trunk, or, alternatively for Bath Day: No perfume! Wash it all off!
