A Moon Garden
In contrast to my blog about having a Sun garden, what about a moon one?
Moon garden
Moon gardens can have many facets. Using all white and silver plants works well but also plants that flower or release their scent at night. There are many plants that are also associated with the energy of the moon.
Creating moon shaped flower beds and using white and grey stones, pebbles, crystals and shingle can also be effective. Reflective surfaces can be included, whether it is mirrors, dark pools of water or white candles.
Suggested white or silver plants, these all come in white varieties:
Artemisia, astilbe, acanthus, agapanthus, agave, alstroemeria, anemone, angelica, lilies, heliotrope, petunia, scabiosa, wisteria, dianthus, hibiscus, hydrangea, daffodil, magnolia, jasmine, camellia, datura (moonflower), hyacinth, peony, aquilegia/columbine, lilac, chrysanthemum, hellebore, yarrow, cosmos, begonia, ferns, centaurea, cardoon, sea holly, helichrysum, heuchera, brunnera, lungwort, dusty miller, melianthus, curry plant, sedum, dicentra alba, evening primrose, honeysuckle, hosta, maiden grass, moonflowers, nicotiana, sage, clematis, rhododendron, viburnum, cistus, lunaria annua, convolvulus, roses, primula, foxglove, phlox, dahlia, echinacea, tulips, allium, stachys, lavender, grasses, delphinium and white daisies.
Plants that are ruled by the moon:
Aloe, birch, calamus, camellia, chickweed, dittany, eucalyptus, evening primrose, gourd, honesty, hyssop, iris, ivy, jasmine, juniper, lemon balm, lily, mallow, mugwort, myrtle, poppy, rose, sweet pea, willow and wormwood.
