Ariadne's Tribe: Minoan Spirituality for the Modern World
Walk the sacred labyrinth with Ariadne, the Minotaur, the Great Mothers, Dionysus, and the rest of the Minoan family of deities. Ariadne's Tribe is an independent spiritual tradition that brings the deities of the ancient Minoans alive in the modern world. We're a revivalist tradition, not a reconstructionist one. We rely heavily on shared gnosis and the practical realities of Paganism in the modern world. Ariadne's thread reaches across the millennia to connect us with the divine. Will you follow where it leads?
Find out all about Ariadne's Tribe at ariadnestribe.com. We're an inclusive, welcoming tradition, open to all who share our love for the Minoan deities and respect for our fellow human beings.
Connecting with the Ancient Minoans
Many of us are fascinated by ancient cultures. We may also feel drawn to them spiritually, like I and the other Tribe members are with the Minoans.
But the Minoans lived thousands of years ago. How can we connect with them today?
Calling on their deities is one way, of course.
But we can also connect with the humans of ancient Crete by learning what their daily lives were like. That can help make them more real to us, because after all, they were people who did many of the same things we do: wear clothes, eat food, work daily jobs, love others.
I've written a number of posts that can help with that. A lot of them revolve around food, since a culture's foodways are among the easiest methods of connecting with them - you gotta eat! But their cosmetics, clothing, gardens, and music can also help us recognize their humanity.
Here's a selection of my Minoan culture posts so you don't have to go digging through the archives to find them.
