PaganNewsBeagle Fiery Tuesday Feb 10

Today's PaganNewsBeagle brings you stories of activism -- with a touch of Paganism.

Overlooked this one earlier, but it's a great post: Crystal Blanton made this list of Pagan activists she most admired in 2014.

We Pagans don't always see eye-to-eye with atheists, but we probably want to support this campaign to end the (Abrahamic-based) ban on atheists holding public office.

Activist Witch Darla Wynne's story of persecution and rebirth has been made into a movie, now finding screenings at indy film festivals. (Background on Wynne's legal history fighting for Pagan civil rights can be found at http://www.religioustolerance.org/wicgf.htm.)

The continual marking of Marie LeVeau's tomb has been controversial for some time. Is it defacing or religious expression? Well, the City of New Orleans has decided to close access to the location except to official tour operators and their clients. What do you think of this move?

It's getting to be tax season and religious organizations (mostly Christian) are campaigning to be able to support political candidates directly without endangering their tax-exempt status. Do you agree or disagree with IRS rules attempting to keep politics away from religion?
