I'm having my own private Stevie Wonder festival.

When I'm giving clients shamanic treatments (click here for info about them), I might listen to his music. It is so happy that it makes my spirit soar, which feeds my magic.

Or, when I'm doing physical therapy exercises, the sheer joy in Stevie Wonder's music loosens my muscles and joints, so the physical therapy is all the more effective.

I'm in a serious crisis right now. I've noticed that, on top of whatever problems the crisis itself consists of, being in crisis can also damage my psyche and physical health. Such harm is radically lessened—or even outright avoided—by any positive attitude I can muster. Stevie's songs help me have a more upbeat attitude during this challenging time. Rock on, Stevie!

Something I learned from my mom is that no matter how hard life gets, you gotta find the joy and laughter. She was an amazing role model of that. And I think she had an important message for our times.

I'm not saying I bury my head in the sand, or suppress difficult feelings, or ignore the plight of people who need my help.

No, this is about something else.

It is about realizing that life is both terrible and wonderful, and always will be, and always has been since we lived in caves, and then getting on with the business of living, by taking care of people who need you, taking care of yourself, and listening to Stevie Wonder.

The magic in music helps us survive and thrive!

Or, to paraphrase Stevie, boogie on, witchy people!
