A Divine Womb of Light: The Alchemy of the Goddess
A Divine Womb of Light is an exploration of the Sacred Feminine and the application of Her transformative energies. These writings will have the intent and focus of inspiring and quickening within the individual a thirst for deeper connection and opening to the magick and gnosis of the Goddess in all of Her forms. She is the Mother, the Uraeus, the Muse, the Warrior, and the Healer, to name a few. SHE is the cycle of life and death and all that is held between; and my goal is to share the wisdom of her Womb of Light that all may claim their Divine birthright.
The Alchemy of the Goddess
The Great Mother
Sighs and oceans
Tremble and swell
Filled with her breath. The Bright Mother
Opens her eyes
Gazing with expectation
And the world is suddenly
Ablaze with illumined gaze. The Dark Mother
Stretches out her hand
And you are rendered
Vulnerable and exposed
As your darkest secrets
Are gently laid bare. The Creatrix moves
And life awakens
As the fabric of form
Is woven gently within
The folds of her embrace.
In giving thought to what my first post would be for Womb of Light, I wanted to write something that would be memorable and, of course, engage readers to want to read more. As I thought through various ideas I kept returning to the focus and intent of the blog and what I hoped to accomplish and share.
Much of my life's work and magick has been blessed and informed by both the Goddess as Deity and the Divine Feminine held in my physical form of expression. Growing up, I never really gave much thought to the fact that I was a female and the latent power that this held. Both my mother and grandmother were strong, competent and resilient women so I pretty much grew up thinking this was the norm. And, at the age of 86, my mother still possesses an inner strength that many a quarter of her age would ever lay claim to.
It was not until my late teens that I saw how little power some women acknowledge as part of their basic nature and also recognized that much of this state of being was the result of gender typing, religious upbringing or male dominated family dynamics. I looked back at some of the mythos surrounding the Goddesses and the feminine energies flowing so strongly through the Eastern practices I was naturally drawn to.
Much of this exploration led me to interactions with women who were involved in a polytheistic or yogic path. What struck me was the core strength these women had,
both in their spiritual practice and in the creative nature of being a woman and acknowledging the power that was held in that alignment. As I explored more deeply, the norm of identification that had grown up with seemed the standard of those who followed a Goddess/Sacred Feminine-filled path, regardless of gender. Additionally, there was often the goal of integration of both the sacred feminine and the masculine as the basis of spiritual wholeness and foundation that was enriched by the polarities of these energies.
Looking deeper still, I became aware of the potency of the Feminine energies when directed towards enlivening the Masculine. The palpable alchemy of Tantric union and the role of the Goddess as the Uraeus in the awakening of the Divine illuminated my way and offered food for deeper inquiry, experience and gnosis. The personal revelation that one of the greatest assets of the feminine energy is that of acting as a catalyst turned my explorations towards deepening my understanding and experiences of the energetic nature of the Sacred Feminine and its role as catalyst to the polarity of masculine energy in enlivening and quickening the strength of flow into a manifest form of co-creation.
This catalytic energy has spilled over into all of my mundane and spiritual activities and I have assumed the many faces of the Goddess in all of my endeavors. As a Mother, I am a catalyst for encouraging each of my five children to pursue their dreams with enthusiasm and rigor. As a Warrior I have stood strong in the space of every challenge; protecting what was unjustly threatened and swiftly and precisely cutting away what was not of highest outcome. As a Healer, I have soothed away a flood of tears, listened with open heart and offered arms and empathetic comfort when needed. As a Muse, I have danced and choreographed so that others could see the beauty of energy and vibration in motion and form. I’ve become so at one with the music of the cosmos that I and It were unified in form and expression. The faces are many and limited only by my own neglect at acknowledging the potency of the Goddess’ energy that enlivens everything.
Most importantly, the alchemical nature of this energy is the knowledge that I am not unique in what was stated above. We all, regardless of gender, carry these energies and these gifts within our Being. We all have been quickened within the womb of the Sacred Feminine, carried to term and birthed into this manifest life of form. We have all been touched by the grace of the Goddess and her abundant attributes through every interaction we have and every action we take. And, we all have the potential for becoming the spark of catalyst for others finding their way to Her. She was in attendance at our birth and will be the welcoming embrace that pulls us towards her womb of transmutation at our physical death. She is ever-present in our blood and in our hearts, we have only to lift our gaze up to Hers and all will be as it should.
I invite you to join me as we open to the gifts of the sacred feminine, explore Her mysteries and return to the waters of deep transformation.
