When Someone You Love Is Kinky

When Someone You Love Is Kinky
by Dossie Easton & Catherine A. Liszt
Greenery Press

So there you are, minding your own cup of cappuccino, when your best friend blurts out that her idea of a hot date involves her boyfriend dripping candle wax on her. Or maybe your own boyfriend is getting extra suggestive about that birthday spanking he wants you to give him. You’re having a hard time coming up with something more sophisticated to say than, “Yikes!”

This book gives you some ideas on how to handle it when friends and family share with you the fact that they’re kinky. Need a bit of an introduction to the concepts? Check out the first three chapters. Looking for a FAQ list? Try Chapter Four.

Have you ever wondered exactly what kinky folks do with each other? See Chapter Five. Do you worry about your friend’s safety? Chapter Six explains basic precautions. So where are all the kinky folks? Chapter Seven guides you through their world. Need help coping? The last four chapters offer tips for specific situations, like if it’s your partner who’s kinky. Just keep in mind that the Goddess welcomes “all acts of love and pleasure,” and you’ll do fine.

In short, When Someone You Love Is Kinky can help you not blow up a perfectly good relationship. It’s good solid information, and who knows? You might find something in here that sounds kinda fun to try yourself. Also, many of the tips and techniques (like “Remember to breathe!”) carry over to other types of announcements: if you’re planning to come out of the broom closet, or if a friend has just announced that he’s becoming a Jehovah’s Witness, this book can help you deal with it calmly. Don’t miss it.
