The Virtues* are central to most Old Pagan systems of ethics, and chief among them is Honor.**

How's yours?

 

What do others say about you?

What do those that know you well say about you?

What do those that know you less than well say about you?

How good is your word?

If you say you'll do something, do you follow through?

If you take an oath, do you keep it?

Are you reliable?

Do you live a life of integrity?

Can you be trusted?

Do you live for others, as well as for yourself?

Do you live in accordance with your values?

What will they remember about you after you're dead?

What will they remember you for, 100 years from now?

Poet, scholar and storyteller Steven Posch was raised in the hardwood forests of western Pennsylvania by white-tailed deer. (That's the story, anyway.) He emigrated to Paganistan in 1979 and by sheer dint of personality has become one of Lake Country's foremost men-in-black. He is current keeper of the Minnesota Ooser.
